Description

Product Brief Introduction

The 57C-429 is a dedicated R-Net network communication processor module of Reliance AutoMax 57C rack-mounted series. The hyphen complies with manufacturer’s official part number marking rule. It serves as network access gateway for AutoMax control rack, responsible for connecting local rack control system to proprietary R-Net industrial network. It realizes peer to peer real-time data interaction among multiple control racks, upper monitoring host and field auxiliary control equipment, and is widely used for spare replacement and network renovation of old distributed automation control system in various industrial workshops.

Model Definition

57C stands for general rack module platform of Reliance AutoMax control system. Middle dash is standard split symbol on factory part coding. 429 is exclusive function code representing R-Net network processor function, which differs from memory communication and drive link modules within same product family. Standard version has no suffix letter, modified versions will add alphabet mark after model number.

Technical Specifications

The module acquires 5V DC working power from chassis backplane bus with fixed rated operating current. It adopts token passing communication mechanism for R-Net bus, supports maximum 32 network nodes in single bus loop. Recommended transmission medium is RG-11 coaxial cable. Operating ambient temperature ranges from 0 degree Celsius to 55 degree Celsius, storage temperature is from minus 40 degree Celsius to 85 degree Celsius. Working relative humidity keeps 5 percent to 90 percent without condensation. Equipped with built-in hardware watchdog and surge protection circuit to meet industrial anti-interference requirement. Multiple status indicator lamps are arranged on front panel to display power, running and network fault state.

Interface and Communication Configuration

Internal data exchange is realized via gold finger contacting with AutoMax proprietary backplane bus to transmit control data and status information with rack main processor and other functional modules. One BNC interface is set on front panel for connecting R-Net coaxial communication cable, and matching terminal resistor needs to be equipped at two ends of whole network trunk. One reserved RS232 debugging port is used for on-site network parameter setting and fault diagnosis. No built-in common fieldbus interface, external access to other industrial network requires matching additional 57C series conversion modules.

Core Functions

It completes protocol conversion between rack internal backplane bus and external R-Net field bus. It manages network node address allocation, token transmission order and real-time data polling on R-Net network. It supports bidirectional data transmission between local control rack and remote distributed control nodes to realize cross-rack linkage control. It buffers network transmission data through onboard storage space to avoid data loss caused by instantaneous communication fluctuation. It continuously monitors network cable connection condition and node online status, feeds back abnormal fault information to host control system once network breakdown or node dropout occurs.

Application Scenarios

It is configured for multi-rack distributed control system of textile continuous production line, automatic packaging equipment and bulk material conveying system. It works as core network component of rubber and plastic processing production line, metallurgy auxiliary control cabinet and water treatment centralized monitoring system. It is commonly used for maintenance replacement of damaged original network module on aging AutoMax equipment of printing and chemical manufacturing industry.

Operation and Maintenance Instructions

Cut off entire rack power supply before plugging or removing module to prevent internal circuit burnout from hot plug operation. Tighten front panel fixing screw after full insertion into slot to ensure reliable contact of backplane gold finger. Clean dust on module surface and cabinet ventilation gaps with dry compressed air every three to six months according to field environment, prohibit direct pouring of cleaning liquid onto circuit board. Install standard 75 ohm terminal resistance at both terminals of R-Net trunk during wiring, separate coaxial signal cable from high voltage power cable. Inspect coaxial connector tightness and cable integrity preferentially when frequent network interruption appears, replace qualified spare 57C-429 module if internal hardware failure is confirmed. Store standby modules in dry constant temperature warehouse away from corrosive gas and strong electromagnetic field. Random disassembly and modification of original onboard components without factory official approval is forbidden.
