JANCD-SV02C

JANCD-SV02C is the latest and most reliable revision of the SV02 series servo control boards manufactured by Yaskawa Electric and Motoman Robotics. It is specially designed for Motoman XRC robot controllers and acts as a fully compatible upgrade version of JANCD-SV02 and JANCD-SV02B. This product has been discontinued officially. Currently only used units, refurbished products and new old stock are available on the market. It adopts standard plug-in structure to fit the dedicated backplane of XRC control racks.

Description

1. General Information

2. Technical Specifications

The board is powered by 24 V DC from the system backplane with a maximum working current of 5.0 A. It can independently control two servo axes and adopts pulse width modulation technology to implement full closed-loop control over position, speed and torque.
It is equipped with complete external interfaces, including motor power terminals, encoder signal ports, limit and homing signal terminals, emergency stop circuit and backplane communication bus. On-board LED indicators display real-time power status, running conditions and fault alarms.
The operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to 40 °C, and the relative humidity shall not exceed 80% without condensation. The applicable altitude is limited to 1000 meters above sea level. Compared with earlier versions, this model uses upgraded electronic components and optimized circuit layout to improve thermal dissipation and anti-interference performance.

3. Main Functions

This board receives motion commands from the main CPU board via the internal bus and converts signals to drive AC servo motors. It collects real-time feedback from encoders to complete closed-loop adjustment, ensuring high positioning accuracy and stable operation of robot axes.
Built-in multiple protection circuits provide effective defense against overcurrent, overvoltage, overheating and short circuit. Once abnormal conditions are detected, the board will trigger protection immediately and send alarm signals to the system to protect motors and mechanical parts. It also works with limit switches and emergency stop signals to comply with industrial safety requirements. The fault diagnosis function is further optimized to help technicians locate problems quickly.

4. Compatibility

JANCD-SV02C is fully applicable to all models of Motoman XRC robot controllers. It can work perfectly with XRC supporting hardware such as JANCD-XCP01 CPU board, JANCD-XEB01 backplane and JANCD-XIO series I/O boards.
It is pin-to-pin compatible with JANCD-SV02 and JANCD-SV02B, allowing direct replacement without any wiring modification. This board cannot be used on ERC, NX100, DX and YRC series robot controllers, nor compatible with LX/MX series CNC systems.

5. Installation Instructions

Cut off the main power supply of the controller and wait at least five minutes for internal capacitors to fully discharge. Wear an anti-static wrist strap during operation to prevent static damage to sensitive components. Align the board with the designated slot on the backplane and insert it firmly, then tighten the fixing screws. After finishing all cable connections, restore power and test servo axis movement and indicator status.

6. Troubleshooting

If servo axes fail to run normally, check the 24 V DC power supply, re-seat the board and clean gold-edge connectors to eliminate poor contact. When axis vibration or position deviation occurs, inspect encoder wiring and verify servo parameter settings.
If the board continuously outputs fault alarms, check motor operating load and internal circuit status. In case of communication failure with the main control unit, re-install adjacent boards and inspect the backplane bus.

7. Maintenance & Safety Notes

Do not plug or unplug the board and connected cables while the system is powered on. Keep the control cabinet and circuit board clean and dry, and keep away from heavy dust, oil mist and corrosive gas. Regularly inspect terminals and connectors to avoid loose connection caused by aging. All maintenance work must follow standard industrial electrical safety regulations.
