2. Electrical and Environmental Specifications

Input power is supplied by the controller backplane at 5 VDC with a tolerance of ±5%. The nominal operating current is around 150 mA, and the maximum power consumption is no more than 0.8 W.
The board works stably within an operating temperature range from 0 °C to 40 °C. The storage temperature ranges from -20 °C to 50 °C. The relative humidity for operation and storage is 5% to 80% with no condensation allowed.

3. Interface Description

It is equipped with a 20-pin dedicated connector for connecting the front panel LCD module. A multi-pin header is designed for wiring front pushbuttons, mode switches and status LEDs. The internal system bus enables data exchange with the main CPU of the XRC controller. The standard gold-plated edge connector is used for installation on the controller backplane slot.

4. Main Functions

This board drives the front panel LCD to display real-time system information, including robot operation modes, servo on/off status, alarm codes, program running status, I/O signals and system parameters. It scans and debounces signals from front panel buttons and switches, and transmits operation commands such as start, stop, jog movement and alarm reset to the main control unit.
Multiple LED indicators on the board and front panel show power status, system operation, alarm alerts, data communication and servo readiness. It also serves as a communication bridge between the operator panel and main CPU, transferring user input and updating display content synchronously.

5. Compatibility

This board is exclusively designed for Motoman XRC robot controllers. It cannot be used with other Yaskawa robot controller models including NX100, NXC100, DX100 and DX200, nor is it compatible with Yasnac CNC systems.

6. Installation Instructions

Cut off the main power supply of the controller and wait at least five minutes for internal capacitors to fully discharge. Wear an ESD wristband before handling the board to avoid static damage. Insert the board firmly into the designated slot on the backplane and fasten the mounting screws. Connect the LCD cable and button harness to corresponding ports. Restore power and check if the LCD, LEDs and physical buttons work normally.

7. Troubleshooting

If the LCD shows no content, check the connection of LCD cables, the seating of the board and the condition of the LCD module. When front panel buttons fail to respond, inspect the connecting harness, switches and internal circuits on the board. If all LEDs stay off, verify the 5 VDC power supply from the backplane and the onboard power circuit. If the system fails to detect the board, re-install the board and clean the edge connectors to remove dust and oxidation.

8. Maintenance and Safety Precautions

Perform regular inspection every three months to check cables, connectors and the board surface for looseness, dust, oxidation or physical damage. Use only dry lint-free cloth for cleaning, and never apply liquid cleaners or solvents. Always disconnect all power before disassembly or maintenance. ESD protection is required during all handling processes. All installation, inspection and repair work must be carried out by qualified professional technicians.
