JANCD-NCP30

JANCD‑NCP30 is the main CPU / single‑board computer (SBC) for the Yaskawa Motoman NXC100 robot controller. It is the high‑performance successor to the NX100’s NCP01 series, designed for faster motion control, expanded I/O, and network connectivity. Revision A1 is the standard production version.

Description

Basic Information

  • Model: JANCD‑NCP30 (Rev A1, POD‑6713)

  • Manufacturer: Yaskawa Electric / Motoman Robotics

  • Type: NXC100 robot controller main CPU board / SBC

  • Compatible System: NXC100 series (not NX100, YRC1000, or DX series)

  • Status: Discontinued (spare parts only)

  • Weight: approx. 0.8 kg

  • Mounting: Slot‑mounted in NXC100 controller backplane (JANCD‑NBB31B)

Specifications

  • Processor: High‑speed industrial CPU (faster than NCP01)

  • Memory: Onboard RAM/ROM + battery‑backed SRAM for programs/parameters

  • Power: 24 VDC (from NXC100 power supply)

  • Communication Interfaces:

    • Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbps)

    • RS‑232C / RS‑485

    • Internal bus for servo/I/O boards

  • I/O: Onboard digital I/O and safety logic

  • Operating Temperature: 0 °C to +45 °C

  • Cooling: Active heat sink (improved thermal performance vs NCP01)

Key Functions

  1. System Control: Executes robot programs, motion planning, and safety logic for the NXC100 controller.

  2. Motion Control: Calculates joint/cartesian trajectories and controls servo drives for high‑precision robot movement.

  3. Communication Hub: Connects to teach pendant, PLC, vision systems, and other peripherals via Ethernet/serial.

  4. Data Management: Stores user programs, system parameters, and error logs with battery backup.

  5. Backplane Coordination: Interfaces with the NBB31B backplane to route power/signals to all internal boards.

Compatibility & Applications

  • Exclusively for Yaskawa NXC100 robot controllers (used in welding, material handling, assembly, and semiconductor automation).

  • No direct replacement; must match NXC100 hardware/software revision.

  • Not compatible with NX100 (NCP01), YRC1000, or DX‑series controllers.

Installation & Safety

  • Power Off: Disconnect main power and discharge capacitors before handling.

  • ESD Protection: Use a grounded anti‑static wristband to avoid component damage.

  • Battery Maintenance: Replace backup battery periodically to prevent data loss.

  • Qualified Personnel: Installation and configuration must be performed by certified technicians.
