Description

1. General Description

JANCD-MTU01 is a temperature monitoring & thermal protection board produced by Yaskawa Motoman. It is installed inside Motoman XRC and MRC robot controllers to monitor internal temperature of servo units, power modules and main boards, and trigger overheat protection. This model is discontinued (EOL); only used and refurbished units are available for replacement.

2. Basic Information

  • Model: JANCD-MTU01

  • Manufacturer: Yaskawa Electric (Motoman)

  • Type: Temperature monitoring and protection board

  • Applicable Equipment: Motoman XRC, MRC robot controllers

  • Product Status: Discontinued / EOL

  • Approximate Weight: 0.25 kg

  • Dimensions: 180 × 95 × 25 mm

3. Technical Specifications

  • Power Supply: 5 VDC supplied by controller backplane

  • Monitoring Channels: Multi-channel temperature sensor interfaces

  • Protection Function: Over-temperature alarm and power interlock

  • Operating Temperature: 0 °C to +40 °C

  • Relative Humidity: 5% ~ 80% RH, non-condensing

4. Key Functions

  • Collects real-time temperature data from servo amplifiers, power modules and key circuit boards.

  • Compares measured temperature with preset threshold values.

  • Sends overheat alarm signals to the main control system once abnormal temperature is detected.

  • Activates protective interlock to stop system operation and prevent component burnout.

  • Maintains normal thermal environment for stable long-term operation of the controller.

5. Compatibility

  • Fully compatible with Motoman XRC and MRC robot controllers.

  • Not compatible with DX, FS, YRC series controllers and non-Yaskawa devices.

6. Installation & Safety Precautions

  • Cut off all power before installation or removal. Hot swapping is strictly prohibited.

  • Use a grounded ESD wristband to avoid static damage.

  • Insert the board into the designated slot and secure the mounting screws.

  • Keep temperature sensors and signal wires separated from high-voltage cables.

  • All maintenance work shall be carried out by qualified technicians.
