Description

1. General Description

JANCD-MM15B is a volatile CMOS RAM memory board manufactured by Yaskawa Electric, marked as Rev A0 with the part number DF8203925-A0. It is specially designed for Motoman XRC and ERC robot controllers. This board is used to load and run user programs, motion parameters and I/O data during system operation. It needs to be matched with MM13 series ROM boards to constitute a complete memory system. This product has been discontinued, and only used or refurbished spare parts are provided for equipment maintenance.

2. Basic Information

Model: JANCD-MM15B (Rev A0)
Alternative Part Number: DF8203925-A0
Manufacturer: Yaskawa Electric
Product Type: Volatile CMOS RAM memory board
Applicable Equipment: Motoman XRC, ERC robot controllers
Form Factor: Standard 3U industrial board
Approximate Weight: 0.64 kg
Product Status: Discontinued / EOL

3. Technical Specifications

Memory capacity is 128 KB CMOS RAM. It adopts a dedicated parallel bus interface compatible with XRC and ERC controller backplanes. The board is powered by 5 VDC supplied from the controller backplane. The operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to +40 °C, and condensation is not allowed in the working environment. The storage temperature ranges from −10 °C to +60 °C. The relative humidity for use and storage is 5% to 80% without condensation. One red LED is installed on the board to indicate power status and data access activity.

4. Key Functions

It stores running robot user programs, job data, motion parameters and I/O buffer data. It must work together with JANCD-MM13 or MM13B ROM boards which store system firmware to ensure normal operation of the controller. It supports online program editing, regular task execution and basic high-speed data buffering. With 128 KB capacity, it is suitable for standard and simple application scenarios of XRC and ERC robot systems.

5. Version and Compatibility

MM15B features 128 KB memory. For reference, MM14C is equipped with 256 KB RAM and MM14D has 512 KB RAM. This board is interchangeable with other MM14 and MM15 series RAM boards on XRC and ERC platforms. It is exclusively compatible with Motoman XRC and ERC robot controllers, and cannot be used for MRC, MX2, DX series controllers or any non-Yaskawa devices.

6. Installation and Safety Precautions

Cut off all power supplies of the controller before installation or removal. Hot swapping is strictly forbidden to avoid hardware damage. Wear a grounded anti-static wristband during operation to protect internal components from static discharge. Align the edge connector and insert the board into an empty 3U slot, then tighten the fixing screws to resist vibration. Keep the board away from moisture, dust, oil stains and physical impact. Do not disassemble, modify or repair the board without authorization.
