JANCD-MM14D

JANCD-MM14D is a high-capacity CMOS RAM expansion board manufactured by Yaskawa Electric. As the Revision D model of the MM14 series, it is the highest capacity variant and designed exclusively for Motoman XRC and ERC robot controllers. This volatile memory module stores active operating programs, complex motion data and I/O buffer information. It must be used together with MM13 series ROM boards to form a complete memory system for normal controller operation. This product is end-of-life, and only used or refurbished spare parts are available for equipment maintenance.

Description

1. General Description

2. Basic Information

Model: JANCD-MM14D
Manufacturer: Yaskawa Electric
Product Type: Volatile CMOS RAM memory board
Applicable Equipment: Motoman XRC, ERC robot controllers
Form Factor: Standard 3U industrial board
Approximate Weight: 0.29 kg
Product Status: Discontinued / EOL

3. Technical Specifications

This board is configured with 512 KB CMOS RAM, the largest capacity among the MM14 series. It adopts a dedicated parallel bus interface matching the backplane of XRC and ERC controllers. The board is powered by 5 VDC from the controller backplane, with a typical operating current of 450 mA. The operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to +40 °C, and condensation is not permitted in the working environment. The storage temperature ranges from −10 °C to +60 °C. The applicable relative humidity is 5% to 80% with no condensation allowed. One red LED is equipped on the board to indicate power supply status and real-time data access activity.

4. Key Functions

It provides high-speed large-capacity volatile memory for complex robot jobs, multi-task programs and mass runtime motion data. This board works in coordination with JANCD-MM13 or MM13B ROM boards, where the ROM board stores system firmware and this RAM board carries user programs and operational data. It supports online program editing, large-scale program caching and high-speed I/O data buffering. With doubled capacity compared to MM14C, it is ideal for sophisticated production lines and multi-station robot applications.

5. Version and Compatibility

MM14D is the top-end version of the MM14 series. MM14B offers 128 KB memory, MM14C offers 256 KB memory and MM14D offers 512 KB memory. All MM14 series boards are fully interchangeable on XRC and ERC platforms. This board is only compatible with Motoman XRC and ERC robot controllers. It cannot be used for MRC, MX2, DX series controllers or any non-Yaskawa devices.

6. Installation and Safety Precautions

Disconnect all power supplies of the controller before installation or removal. Hot swapping is strictly prohibited to prevent permanent hardware damage. Wear a grounded anti-static wristband during operation to protect internal electronic components from static damage. Align the edge connector and insert the board into a vacant 3U slot, then tighten the fixing screws for vibration resistance. Keep the board away from moisture, dust, oil and physical impact. Do not disassemble, modify or repair the board without authorization.
