Description
1. General Description
JANCD-MM138 is a legacy ROM/RAM memory board produced by Yaskawa Electric. It is a revised variant of JANCD-MM13, specially designed for Motoman ERC and XRC robot controllers. This non-volatile storage module is responsible for storing system firmware, robot job programs, motion parameters and various backup data for normal operation of the robot system. This product has been discontinued by the original manufacturer, and only used or refurbished spare parts are available on the market for equipment maintenance and replacement.
2. Basic Information
Model: JANCD-MM138Manufacturer: Yaskawa ElectricProduct Type: Industrial non-volatile ROM/RAM memory boardApplicable Equipment: Motoman ERC, XRC robot controllersProduct Status: End of productionApproximate Weight: 0.47 kg
3. Specifications
It is equipped with 2 to 4 expandable ROM and RAM slots to meet different storage capacity demands. It adopts the controller dedicated parallel bus interface with standard 3U rack mounting structure. The board is powered by 5 VDC supplied from the controller backplane, and it matches the power system of 110-240 VAC and 24 VDC of the host equipment. The operating temperature ranges from 0 °C to +40 °C with non-condensing environment. The storage temperature ranges from −10 °C to +60 °C. The applicable humidity is 5% to 95% relative humidity, and condensation is not allowed. A single red LED is configured on the board to indicate power status and operating state.
4. Main Functions
This board stores robot system firmware, running job programs, motion control parameters, I/O configuration data and tool offset values as well as fault logs. It supports system booting from this memory board, program saving and loading, and full data backup and restoration. It also realizes offline program migration between controllers of the same model.
5. Compatibility Explanation
JANCD-MM138 shares the same functions and compatibility with standard JANCD-MM13, with only minor differences in hardware revision. It is exclusively applicable to ERC and XRC robot controllers, and cannot be used for MRC, MX2, DX series and other new generation robot controllers or non-Yaskawa devices.
6. Installation and Safety Instructions
Cut off all AC and DC power of the controller before installation or removal. Hot plugging is strictly prohibited to prevent permanent damage to the board and host system. Wear a grounded anti-static wristband during operation to protect internal electronic components from static damage. Align the edge connector and insert the board into a vacant 3U slot, then fasten the fixing screws to resist vibration. Keep the board away from moisture, dust, oil contamination and physical collision. Do not disassemble, modify or repair the board without authorization, otherwise it will affect the stable operation of the system.
